The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the recent attack on American soldiers on the Jordanian-Syrian border and the violation of Jordanian sovereignty.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry expressed regret for the victims of the attack, saying "it could lead to dangerous escalations and regional tension as a result of Israel's continued aggression against Gaza."
Bustros Palace expressed its solidarity with Jordan and its support for the Jordanian authorities, as well as its support for the measures undertaken to preserve the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom.
The Ministry also called on all parties to intensify their efforts to achieve security and stability in the region and put an end to the escalation by establishing an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the other Palestinian territories. According to the statement, this ceasefire should be a prerequisite for a political solution based on the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with UN resolutions.
A drone strike against an American military installation on the Jordanian-Syrian border on Sunday killed three American soldiers and wounded others.
