Hezbollah Denies Berri and Mikati’s Exclusion in Land Border Demarcation
In the midst of the cross-border exchange on the Lebanese-Israeli border, the continuous war in Gaza and the anticipation of the US decision in retaliation to the targeting of its troops in Syria, an unprecedented development circulated in the media on Tuesday concerning the land border demarcation between Lebanon and Israel.

According to diplomatic sources who informed Nidaa al Watan, the United States has been informed, through communication channels in Beirut, that Hezbollah decided to "cut off" House Speaker Nabih Berri and caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati from the land border negotiations on its behalf.

Hezbollah swiftly published a statement on Tuesday morning denying what it called "a fabricated and offensive news article in the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper today."

"Indirect negotiations are exclusively the responsibility of the Lebanese state, and therefore, what was mentioned in the mentioned article is completely untrue and devoid of any truth, both in form and content," reads the statement.

If the alleged new decision by the Iran-backed group about the indirect negotiations is confirmed, it coincides with a statement made on Monday by caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib, calling for "indirect negotiations to resolve contentious points" on the land borders between Lebanon and Israel.
