Central Bank Acting Governor: It's Time for a Solution to Lebanon's Woes
Acting Governor of Lebanon's Central Bank (BDL) Wassim Mansouri said on Thursday that "the opportunity is real and the time has come to start finding solutions for the country's (woes) as a whole."

Speaking at the end of a panel discussion at the headquarters of the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers (CGTL), Mansouri stressed that, for the first time, through contacts with the government and concerned ministers, MPs and parliamentary bloc heads, he has observed "a real willingness to find a solution to issues that have been pending for a very long time." In his view, these solutions should "be implemented promptly."

For Mansouri, "The key to building the State is reinstating trust" in state institutions. In this respect, he called for "everyone to be given a chance, as there is no room today for the populism that marked the previous stage," affirming that "we must move on to a new stage."

While thanking the CGTL for its invitation, Mansouri expressed the hope that all members of society would become involved in rebuilding the state.
