Amos Hochstein, the American mediator in charge of negotiations to demarcate the maritime borders between Lebanon and Israel, should arrive in Beirut on Thursday to hold talks with Lebanese officials after visiting Israel last week, according to Al-Jadeed.
Diplomatic sources explained to Al-Jadeed that Hochstein's visit is not a threatening visit but rather aims to begin serious negotiations on a border security agreement to reduce the escalation.
The sources added that the goal of the American mission, which Hochstein is undertaking and coordinating with Paris, is to put the Israeli border dossier on the table.
