- Al-Arouri: Hamas Threatens Retaliation
The leaders of the Islamist Hamas movement declared on Sunday during their daily press conference in Beirut that they will respond to Israel's assassination of the movement's leader, Saleh al-Arouri.
Arouri and six other officials and members of Hamas were killed on Tuesday evening in a strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
During the press conference in Beirut, Oussama Hamdan, a Hamas representative in Lebanon, stated, "Our forces in northern Gaza are well and in their positions," in response to the Israeli army's announcement on Saturday that it had completed the dismantling of the Hamas "military structure" in the northern Gaza Strip.
Hamdan also emphasized that seven Israeli brigades are fighting in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, "without achieving any results on the ground so far."
