Finance Minister Extends Tax Payment Deadlines
Caretaker Finance Minister Youssef Khalil announced on Tuesday evening the extension of payment deadlines for certain taxes. This initiative is designed to give taxpayers more time to pay their dues and avoid having them sustain penalties for late payment.

The deadline to submit the annual income tax return and the Beneficial Owner Statement (Form M18) for the year 2023 has been extended to February 29, 2024, for taxpayers liable to income tax based on flat-rate profits and establishments exempt from income tax.

The minister also announced that the period for filing departure tax returns for air and sea travelers has been extended to January 15, 2024. In addition, the deadline for the payment of this fee for the month of November 2023 has also been extended, giving taxpayers the opportunity to submit their declarations and pay the required fees.
