Caretaker Minister of Labor Moustafa Bayram announced the standardization of travel allowances across the public and private sectors, along with an increase in the minimum wage for the private sector.
In an interview with "Voice of All Lebanon," he disclosed that the index commission will convene next Thursday.
"We will announce the standardization of travel allowances between the public and private sectors, increasing from LBP 250,000 to 450,000 per day, equivalent to $100 per month," he stated. Additionally, he stressed that this measure will be implemented in coordination with the President of the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers (CGTL), Bechara al-Asmar, and the President of Economic Bodies, Mohammad Choucair.
Bayram ensured unanimous consensus on this matter, emphasizing that the private sector "has adeptly adjusted by pegging prices to the dollar and is once again experiencing profits, which should be reflected in the workers."
