Tensions in the South: Recent Updates
Escalating tensions between Hezbollah and Israel continued in southern Lebanon despite Christmas celebrations on Monday, December 25.

As of Monday afternoon, Israel resumed artillery shelling on the outskirts of Odaisseh, Tallet al-Mourtan in Sarda, Jabal al-Labbouneh, and the surroundings of Naqoura and Jabal al-Alam. In addition, the shelling targeted the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab, Odaisseh, Tallet Hamames, Tallet al-Azziyah, Tallet al-Awida between Kfar Kila and Odaisseh, Hanin, Rouwaisa on the southern outskirts of Hula, and Wadi Hamoul.

Hostile bombing took place in Horsh Houra between Kfar Kila and Deir Mimas, while phosphorous shells were thrown at the outskirts of Odaisseh, the outskirts of Kfar Kila, and the Marjayoun Plain.

A batch of missiles was also fired towards Israel from Lebanon, followed by fragmentation shells on the outskirts of tents.


It was also reported that Israel set up a spy balloon over the towns of Dhayra and Alma al-Shaab. At approximately 4:40 PM, Israel carried out an air attack, raiding the course of the Litani river on the outskirts of the eastern town of Zawtar, firing a missile directed at the area, and causing clouds of smoke to rise in the sky.

As of 12:40 PM on Monday, Hezbollah stated that they had targeted the Miskav colony with missile weapons, the Beit Hillal base, as well as the east of Kiryat Shmona, and inflicted confirmed casualties there. The party also claimed to have targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers surrounding the Birkat Risha site, near the Hanita site, and inflicted confirmed casualties: one dead and one wounded.

The bombing also targeted the Marjayoun Plain, Tallet al-Hamames, and the Wadi al-Asafir area in Khiam.
