Colonna’s Lebanon Visit Postponed to Monday
French Minister of Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna, originally scheduled to travel to Lebanon this Saturday, had to reschedule her trip to Monday due to a technical issue with the plane transporting her to Beirut.

The pilots of the Falcon 900, boarding the minister, advisors, journalists, and security personnel, decided it was safer to return and land at Villacoublay Air Base near Paris for security reasons.

Nevertheless, the minister has not abandoned her visit and plans to travel to Beirut on Monday, a day after she visits Israel and the West Bank, as reported by AFP.

On Saturday, she was expected to engage in discussions with Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. Catherine Colonna was also scheduled to meet with the commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), General Aroldo Lazaro, in the Lebanese capital.

The minister’s visit to Lebanon is part of France’s efforts to prevent regional escalation.
