Celebratory gunfire in the southern suburbs of Beirut and in some areas of Baalbek-Hermel followed Iran’s strike on Israel on Tuesday, which was carried out in reprisal for the killings of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas and Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah.
Fireworks were also launched throughout Tripoli after the attack, which was broadcast live on many local and foreign TV channels.
