A new Israeli strike hit Beirut’s southern Suburbs, commonly known as Dahyeh, as the Hebrew State’s military alerted late on Friday night it would strike three buildings in the said area, where Hezbollah had stored weapons, and called on residents to evacuate them.

“In a short while, we will attack the weapons under these buildings. The force of the explosions as a result of the missiles which are under the buildings may cause damage to the buildings and even their collapse,” military spokesman Daniel Hagari said at a televised briefing.

Hagari said Hezbollah had constructed three buildings in Dahyeh with designated underground spaces for “storing strategic weapons, with the buildings above acting as a shield.”

“The way the missiles are stored in these buildings allows them to be moved and launched outside of the buildings within minutes.”

The Israeli military also vowed to prevent Iran from transferring weapons to the pro-Iranian formation through the Beirut airport, saying its fighter jets were patrolling the skies above.

“We will not allow arms transfers to the Hezbollah terrorist organisation in any way. We know about Iranian arms shipments to Hezbollah and foil them. Air force jets are now patrolling around the Beirut airport,” said Hagari.

“We will not allow hostile flights with weapons to land at the civilian Beirut airport.”

A few minutes earlier, military spokesman Avichay Adraee called on residents to flee the area and get to safety. “You are located near Hezbollah interests and for your safety and the safety of your loved ones, you must evacuate the buildings and stay at a distance of at least 500 metres (yards) from them,” he said on X.
