An Israeli airstrike targeted Beirut’s southern suburb for the second time in four days, early evening on Monday, the deadliest and most violent day since the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Israeli army announced that it has targeted Ali Karaki, a senior Hezbollah commander, but there was no information on his fate.

Israel’s massive air offensive on Monday hit targets in the south, and deep into Lebanese territory, including the Beqaa, Hermel and Baalbek, in addition to the mountainous area of Qartaba, in the Sarghal region, which was targeted for the first time, according to the National News Agency.

Moreover, a rocket fell in Mayrouba in Keserwan, a district of Christian majority, without causing any injuries.

Earlier, an Israeli rocket fell in the town of Almat, in the Jbeil district, in an uninhabited mountainous area known as the Wardiyat region in Laqlouq. Military and security forces rushed to the scene, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.

Since 5:30 PM, over 50 Israeli airstrikes targeted several locations in the Beqaa Valley including, Nabi Sheet, Talia, the center of the city of Baalbek, al-Khadr, Masa and al-Nahri, Shmistar, Shaath, Hazart, Baalbek outskirts, Brital outskirts, Nahle, Younin, Nabha, Bouday, Badnayel, al-Nasriya and Sarine, Tamnin, Tal Al-Abiad.
