On the night of August 13-14, the Dana White’s Contender Series once again delivered a spectacle of intense fights and sports revelations. For the uninitiated, this competition (DWCS) is a program created by Dana White, the president of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), designed to discover new talent in mixed martial arts (MMA). Through weekly broadcasted fights, fighters from all over the world compete in hopes of earning a contract with the UFC, the largest MMA organization globally.

Among the participants that night was Ramy Hamed, a civil engineer and Lebanese athlete, who impressed in his bout against the Chinese fighter Meng Ding. Fought in the welterweight category, the match lived up to expectations with three rounds of high intensity. From the first round, Hamed dominated the exchanges, combining rigorous defense with surgical strikes. His strategy allowed him to win the round with a clear score of 30-27.

The second round saw Hamed continue his momentum, delivering left hooks and straight punches with unsettling precision. Despite Ding’s resilience, he couldn’t contain the Lebanese fighter’s aggression, and the round ended with another score in Hamed’s favor, 29-27.

In the final round, Hamed maintained the pressure while skillfully avoiding his opponent’s attacks. He closed the fight with another win at 29-27. His performance impressed the judges, but despite this undisputed victory, he did not secure the much-anticipated UFC contract this time.

Although Ramy Hamed did not obtain the coveted UFC contract, his performance at Dana White’s Contender Series demonstrated that he has the potential to compete at the highest level in mixed martial arts. His career is just beginning, and he remains a name to watch closely in the MMA world.
