The Quai d’Orsay urged French nationals on Friday to avoid certain countries, in the current context of Iran’s threats of retaliation against Israel.

French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné advised French citizens to “abstain” from traveling to Iran, Israel, Lebanon, and the Palestinian territories.

This decision comes as Iran threatens to strike Israel, accused of an attack on April 1 on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. It was “acted on in a crisis meeting,” the minister said. He also called for the “return of the families of diplomatic agents from Tehran,” as well as a ban on missions by French officials to these countries.
