The border confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel are constantly escalating and reaching deeper targets, inflicting more damage and casualties.
One person was killed and several others injured overnight on Tuesday in an Israeli air raid on a three-story building in the town of Kfar Kila. The building was completely destroyed, and extensive damage was inflicted to nearby structures. Rescue teams worked on removing the debris until the early hours of the morning.
Having been initially limited to a 2 kilometers depth on either side of the border, Israeli bombardment extended to 40 kilometers at times, reaching places like Zahrani, Nabatieh and Mount Rihan, while Hezbollah targeted military sites and settlements within a 9 kilometer range.
Later on, Hezbollah announced the death of one of its fighters, Mhammad Ali Bassam, originally from Kfar Kila.
Israeli warplanes raided Kfar Kila’s center at night, and launched flares over villages in the western and middle sectors, reaching the vicinity of the Litani River. Reconnaissance flights flew over villages in the Tyre district and the coastal area until this morning.
The Israeli army combed, on Wednesday morning, the outskirts of the town of Blida with machine guns from their position in Al-Bayada.
Also early on Wednesday, the Israeli army bombarded with heavy weapons the valleys adjacent to the Blue Line and the town of Tabrikha from its positions facing Aita al-Shaab.
The Disaster Management Unit and Crisis Cell of the Union of Tyre Municipalities called on all parties to “assume their responsibilities in securing the essential needs of the increasing number of displaced persons,” with the winter season at the doorstep.
On the other hand, the Islamic Mission Scouts said that its teams were busy clearing the rubble and debris from the aftermath of the Israeli shelling, which had closed several roads in the southern villages and towns adjacent to the Blue Line.
