Head of Mission and Chief of Staff of the UN Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO), Major General Patrick Gauchat, acknowledged on Tuesday the role of the Lebanese government in implementing UN Resolution 1701 and emphasized the necessity for all parties to work toward its implementation.
Gauchat discussed with Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Grand Serail the various tasks of the UNTSO, including monitoring ceasefires, supervising ceasefire agreements, and assisting other United Nations peacekeeping operations in the region to carry out their missions.
