Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton emphasized Iran’s role in the October 7 attack.
In an interview with MTV Lebanon News on Monday, October 30, Bolton stated that “the strategic reality indicates that Iran has armed, financed and aided Hamas, the Houthi rebels and Hezbollah,” thus enabling these groups to carry out the October 7 attacks.
“While this neither serves Hamas nor Hezbollah, it does serve Iran. I think the evidence (of Iran’s role) is starting to emerge,” he added.
Bolton also emphasized the “open coordination” between Hamas and Iran.
The former US official also highlighted the failure of Israeli and American intelligence services on October 7, and added that it was difficult to know the reason behind the failure but that “it will be important for both countries to eventually figure out what mistakes were made.”
