In a statement released Thursday by Father Youssef Nasr, the Secretary-General of Catholic Schools in Lebanon, schools in the suburbs of Beirut have been given the discretion to choose between closing, opening, or operating half day.

The decision was taken in anticipation of a gathering scheduled to take place following the noon prayer at the Imam Al-Mujtaba courtyard in the Saint Therese area on Friday, October 13th.

The gathering is expected to show solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza.
