A boat carrying 125 stowaways, Syrians, and Palestinians leaving the Lebanese coast broke down on Friday off Palm Island, opposite the northern Lebanese coastal city of Tripoli.

Local news agency Al-Markaziya reported that the passengers called for help from the Lebanese army, which towed the boat into the port of Tripoli.

Lebanese Red Cross teams are working to rescue the passengers. No injuries have been reported.
