MP Tony Frangieh emphasized the Marada Movement’s commitment to “political realism, open-mindedness and belief in a diverse Lebanon,” highlighting that “building a prosperous, diverse state requires balanced development across regions, involving all citizens to protect Lebanon’s unity.”

Frangieh further pointed out that Lebanon’s unity thrives when regional prosperity does not come at the expense of others and when all citizens share equal rights and responsibilities.

“It is only at this point that we could claim to be addressing the idea of administrative decentralization with any sort of seriousness—dealing, in other words, with the implementation of what was agreed upon in the Taif Agreement,” he added, showing support to the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, who is promoting administrative decentralization.

Frangieh encouraged constructive dialogue across the different parties to build a stronger nation. “Those who refuse to engage in dialogue on all issues, especially the fundamental ones, bear the responsibility for the chaos in Lebanon, which has led to a series of crimes, like the recent crime that took the life of the innocent child Naya Hanna,” he stated.
