Several attempts at illegal emigration by sea were thwarted on Saturday. Army intelligence arrested five Syrian nationals in Batroun who were organizing an illegal sea crossing. The Army unit also arrested 49 Syrians at the Deir Aamar dam in northern Lebanon, who were preparing to set sail illegally.

Earlier, at dawn, the Army’s intelligence units had stopped several vans carrying people preparing to leave Lebanon illegally, as well as two pick-ups carrying more than 100 people, in the Minieh region of Denniyeh.

For its part, State Security succeeded in thwarting an illegal emigration attempt in the Hannouch region, in Chekka.
