Israeli airstrikes continued relentlessly throughout Sunday, targeting various locations across Lebanon, including the southern suburbs of Beirut, Tyre, the Bekaa Valley, and Hermel.

In Beirut, the strikes concentrated on the areas of Chiyah and Ghobeiry in the southern suburbs, with large plumes of smoke rising into the sky following the bombings.

Initial reports from Israeli Channel 14 indicated that the intended target of the attack was Abu Ali Reda, the commander of Hezbollah’s Badr Unit. However, Hezbollah claimed that the actual target was Abu Abdo Ghossn, the leader of the group’s Unit 1600. Hezbollah’s media relations later confirmed that Abu Ali Reda had not been harmed.

In the Bekaa Valley, an airstrike on the town of Jeb Jannine resulted in the deaths of Mohammad Dahrouj, a leader in the Islamic Group (Jamaa Islamiya), along with his wife, Diana Atef al-Desouki, and their young son. This marked the first airstrike on Jeb Jannine since the onset of the conflict.

Israeli attacks also struck other towns in the Bekaa, including Nabi Sheet, Khreibe, Tamnine, and Khadr. A bombing in Marjayin, Hermel, resulted in ten fatalities.

Earlier in the day, an Israeli drone strike near Baalbek targeted a car, while another strike in Zeboud led to the deaths of more than 17 people. A bombing in Hosh al-Ghanem caused serious injuries and substantial damage to nearby buildings.

In southern Lebanon, the Israeli military conducted a series of air raids on over 45 Hezbollah positions in the Kafra area, as well as in towns such as Nabatieh, Toul, Sarafand, and Tyre. In Ain al-Delb, east of Saida, an Israeli airstrike resulted in the deaths of 24 people and injuries to 29; this toll is not final.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 14 rescue workers were killed within 48 hours during Israeli raids. Additionally, it announced that a total of 21 people lost their lives in Israeli strikes in eastern Lebanon.

“In response to the Israeli airstrikes”, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for shelling the northern Israeli city of Safed, along with several nearby localities.
