Israeli shelling continues for the fourth day in a row, on Thursday, amid heavy waves of airstrikes in the Bekaa and southern Lebanon overnight, causing extensive damage to properties and lives.

Israeli planes broke the sound barrier over several Lebanese regions, including Beirut, on Thursday morning.

Alarm sirens sounded in Acre on Thursday morning, and Israeli media reported the interception of rockets over the Rafael military complex near Acre.

The Israeli Army announced on Thursday that it had hit 75 Hezbollah targets in the Bekaa and southern Lebanon, including arms depots and rocket launchers.

On Wednesday night, the Bekaa experienced the most violent episode in Israel’s bombing of Baalbeck. Israel bombed a house in Shaat; all the family members are reported killed.

Along the Zahle-Baalbek main route, a gas station in Younin was destroyed overnight. A total of 23 people were killed and 11 others were injured in this airstrike.

Israeli fighter jets also violently raided Nabi Chit, al-Khader, Brital, al-Bazaliyah, and Doures. Numerous buildings and shops were destroyed in the region. In the caza of Zahle, a four-story building was completely destroyed in al-Karak, resulting in several deaths.

In central Bekaa, Ali al-Nahri, Haret al-Fikani, Massa, Taalabaya, and Jalala were also bombed. Reconnaisance drones continuously flew over the cazas of Zahle and Baalbek until dawn, amid sounds of simultaneous explosions.

In southern Lebanon, 18 people were killed and 183 were wounded, while 20 deaths and 88 injuries were reported in Nabatieh, according to a statement issued by the Health Ministry.

Israeli air force destroyed a house between Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Zawtar, and bombarded the town of Kfar Rumman. Airstrikes extended to reach Kawthariya al-Siyad, Toul, Kfar Fasir, Kfar Kahti, and Kherbet Selm, where a three-story building was completely destroyed.

In the cazas of Tyre, Deir Kanoun, Ras al-Ain, Kfardounin, and Tayr Harfa were raided by Israeli warplanes as heavy artillery targeted the towns of al-Dhaira, Marwahin, and Alma al-Shaab.

Several regions in Aita al-Shaab and Qana were also targeted by warplanes. The Health Ministry later stated that “three were killed in Aita al-Shaab, and a Syrian national was killed and another was wounded in Qana.”

Additionally, Deir Saryan and al-Qantara in the Marjayoun district were also targeted.

Overnight, Israeli drones flew at low altitude over the southern suburbs of Beirut.

On the other hand, the Israeli Army announced machine gun sweeping operations on the Lebanese border after detecting suspicious movements.

At night, Israel opened machine gun fire near the settlement of Shlomi and fired flares.

The Israeli daily ‘Yedioth Ahronoth’ reported “an unclear security incident in the Manara and Shlomi settlements suspected to be two infiltration attempts that security forces are thwarting.”
